clinical documentation, structured content management, project management, big data
THE ESSENCE OF WHAT I DID
I implemented SCM in Merck’s medical writing department and created a library development curriculum to make clinical documentation more efficient. (2018)
THE PROJECT BACKGROUND
Medical Writing and Content Standards, Merck & Co.
Structured content management is a documentation system that works by extracting chunks (content libraries) of similar information across documents, storing them in a database, and using them in future documents. The chunks are pre-written and pre-approved to promote medical writing efficiency and regulatory compliance among clinical documents.
I worked both independently and on a team to implement SCM within the medical writing department. I created content libraries for drug protocols and a curriculum for library development to be used globally by pharmaceutical companies. I was even able to present my work at the Merck Technology Symposium in 2018.
On the side, I worked on reviewing clinical documentation, documenting international regulations, and schema systems.
